Spotlight: Fadila Salifu

Fadila is a self-motivated lady who is determined to overcome obstacles that come her way in order to achieve success.

She attended the West Africa Senior High school, WASS and successfully completed in 2018 and later continued to the University of Ghana. Whiles in WASS, she had to face and overcome the challenge of inadequate financial support. Lack of funds made payment of fees and also purchase of books for school difficult; she sometimes had to stay at home to work in order to get enough money to cater for school needs which made her miss some classes. But through all this, she forged on and even took leadership positions whiles in high school as the Head Girls’ Prefect and the Ladies’ Commissioner for Ghana Muslim Students Association.

Fadila took advantage of a college scholarship by the TWII Foundation whiles at WASS. The scholarship paid for tuition at the University of Ghana, where she studied History and Geography. Challenges came her way whiles in college especially since she was a non-resident student but she overcame them and she completed her final semester on 24th September, 2022.

She is currently undertaking her National Service at the National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS) in the Public Relations(PR) department. She enjoys her role in the PR department assisting clients with their needs.

She hopes to pursue her Masters’ degree in PR and also study Law as her future goal.
