Still We Rise: Inaugural Afua Serwaah Scholar is the First
TWII Foundation's Inaugural Afua Serwaah Scholar completes nursing school! She is the first in her family.
In 2016, Robert Nuamah surprised our mom with a 5,000 dollar donation to begin a scholarship in her name. The award was to go to a young woman from her same neighborhood in Kumasi to be the first in her family to go to college. That same year, Jocelyn, was selected. Jocelyn who was orphaned during adolescence was working as a seamstress and was 26 years old. Without support, just this past Month, she fulfilled her college dream and is now officially a graduate of nursing school. We are so proud!
In her words: I come from a family of six. I am the third born among my siblings.I had the vision of becoming a nurse but my family didn't have enough fund to do so. Through the efforts of Auntie Sally, i have been able to fulfil my dreams.I have completed nursing training college successfully.I am very glad that i made my family and my sponsors proud. To Auntie Sally, i say God bless you so much for your uncountable sacrifices.
